Forty handball coaches from across Tanzania have been officially selected to participate in the International Handball Federation (IHF) C License coaching course, set to take place from July 23 to 30, 2025, at the Filbert Bayi School in Kibaha, Pwani Region.
The course is being organized by the IHF in collaboration with the Tanzania Handball Association (TAHA) as part of a broader initiative to raise the standard of coaching and handball development in the country.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, TAHA’s Technical Committee Chairman, Emmanuel Majura, explained that the program specifically targets coaches who have already completed the IHF D License course.
“The selection process required each applicant to submit their CV to the IHF, which reviewed all submissions and selected the top 40 candidates who met the criteria,” said Majura.
“Unfortunately, 10 applicants did not qualify this year but will have the opportunity to participate in the next round.”he added
The course will be led by renowned IHF international instructor Dr. Tarek Lofty from Egypt, alongside local handball expert Omary Kiama.
This certification program is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the technical skills of Tanzanian coaches and supporting the growth of handball at both grassroots and professional levels.
