Tanzania showcases investment opportunities at Osaka Expo 2025

 Osaka, Japan— The Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania,  Kassim Majaliwa Majaliwa, has highlighted the growing economic partnership between Tanzania and Japan, noting a significant increase in trade volumes from USD 7 billion in 2020 to USD 37 billion in 2024.

Representing President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan at the Tanzania National Day celebrations during the ongoing Osaka Expo 2025, Prime Minister Majaliwa emphasized Tanzania's wide range of investment opportunities. 

Key sectors identified include geothermal energy, agriculture, livestock, the blue economy, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development.

“Tanzania is open for business, and we invite Japanese companies to explore the vast opportunities our country offers. We have a stable investment climate, supportive policies, and untapped potential across multiple sectors,” said the Prime Minister.

He also extended an invitation to Japanese investors to participate in the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair commonly known as Sabasaba held annually from late June, as a gateway to exploring business prospects in Tanzania and the East African region.

Tanzania Day at Osaka Expo 2025 featured vibrant cultural performances, including traditional dances and authentic Taarab music from Zanzibar. 

The event was attended by Tanzanian cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, and heads of public institutions.

 It was also part of the broader Osaka Expo 2025 Infrastructure Week activities currently underway in Japan.

Japan commended Tanzania’s economic progress and reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation in trade, investment, and development initiatives.
