The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Youth Wing, under the leadership of Chairman Mohamed Ali Kawaida, has officially launched a nationwide campaign titled “Kijani First Time Voters” in Dodoma.

The initiative seeks to empower and mobilize young Tanzanians who will be voting for the first time in the 2025 General Election.

Thousands of young people gathered for the high-energy launch event, marking a significant milestone in the effort to elevate youth voices in the democratic process.

“This campaign is not just about voting it’s about awakening the spirit of leadership in our youth,” said Chairman Mohamed Ali Kawaida.

“We are turning on green, and with it, turning on the power of a new generation determined to build the future of Tanzania.”he added

“Kijani First Time Voters” is a strategic extension of the national campaign “Tunazima Zote, Tunawasha Kijani” (We Turn Off Everything Else, We Turn On Green).

Its core mission is to inspire participation across all age groups, with a strong emphasis on youth engagement in choosing CCM candidates at every level from ward councilors and Members of Parliament to the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

“We are preparing a generation of decision-makers young people who understand that leadership begins with a single vote,” added Kawaida.“Their vote is their voice. Their voice is their power.”

The event featured music, interactive voter education stations, registration assistance, and motivational talks from youth leaders and first-time voters.

“For the first time, I feel like my voice truly matters,” said Amina Yusuf, a 21-year-old university student.

“This campaign has shown us that we are not just the future we are the present, and our decisions count.”he added

“Kijani First Time Voters” will continue to roll out across Tanzania in the coming months, targeting schools, universities, and community centers.

The campaign aims to increase awareness about voter rights, strengthen civic responsibility, and foster a culture of informed participation among young people.

As the 2025 General Election approaches, this campaign stands as a bold declaration: the youth of Tanzania are ready to lead, and they are choosing to turn on green.
