The Election Committee has announced that the leadership elections for the Dar es Salaam Athletics Association (DAA) will be held on June 28, 2025, in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking at a press conference on May 28, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, the Chairperson of the DAA Election Committee, Juma Ikangaa, confirmed that the nomination process is officially underway.
Nomination forms for various leadership positions are available starting today, May 28, and will remain available until June 8, 2025. Forms can be collected at the association’s offices, located opposite Uhuru Stadium.
Ikangaa encouraged individuals who are passionate about the growth and development of athletics in the region to step forward and vie for leadership roles.
“We would like to inform all stakeholders across Dar es Salaam that the window for collecting and submitting nomination forms closes on June 8,” he announced.
He outlined that the nomination fee for the positions of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Treasurer is TZS 20,000, while candidates applying for a Member position will pay TZS 10,000.
Ikangaa called on athletics enthusiasts and stakeholders in Dar es Salaam to participate actively in the election process, emphasizing the importance of electing committed leaders to advance the sport in the region.
