The CRDB Federation Cup Round of 16 will conclude tomorrow with two thrilling matches set to take place at different venues across the country.
Defending champions Yanga will take on Songea United in a highly anticipated clash scheduled for 4:00 PM at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
Meanwhile, Mashujaa will battle Pamba Jiji at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma, with both teams eyeing a spot in the next round.
These matches will determine the final two teams to complete the lineup for this season’s quarterfinals.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, Songea United’s team secretary, Onesmo Emeran, expressed confidence in his squad, stating that the players are highly motivated and eager to prove themselves.
"We respect Yanga because they play at a different level than us, but we are ready to showcase our abilities on the pitch," he said.
"We know Yanga is a big club with talented players, including foreign stars, but this is a great opportunity for our young players to demonstrate their skills and possibly attract interest from top teams in the country," he added.
On the other hand, Yanga’s team manager, Walter Herson, affirmed that his side is well-prepared to secure a spot in the quarterfinals.
He also called on fans to turn out in large numbers to support the team as they continue their title defense.
"Our fans have always played a key role in our success. We urge them to show up in full force and help us achieve our goal," he emphasized.
