Yanga SC and the Zanzibar Ministry of Tourism and Heritage have signed a partnership agreement aimed at promoting Zanzibar as a top tourist destination.

The collaboration, set to run until the end of the 2025/2026 season, is expected to boost the visibility of Zanzibar’s tourism sector.

The agreement was officially signed today by Minister of Tourism and Heritage Mudrick Ramadhan Soraga and Yanga SC President Engineer Hersi Said.

Minister Soraga commended Yanga’s leadership for their commitment to this initiative, emphasizing the importance of strategic partnerships in driving tourism growth.

"The tourism industry is highly competitive. Despite our strong reputation, we still face intense competition from neighboring islands. That’s why we must invest heavily in marketing and promotion," Soraga stated.

He further praised Yanga’s influence and reach, noting, "If there is one institution with the power and influence to help us showcase Zanzibar’s attractions to the world, it is Yanga SC."

Yanga SC President Engineer Hersi Said expressed the club’s enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the opportunities it presents for both tourism and sports development.

"We are honored to collaborate with the Zanzibar Tourism Commission under the ministry. This partnership is not just about branding—it’s about making a real impact in promoting Zanzibar as a premier tourist destination," Hersi said.

He confirmed that the "Visit Zanzibar" logo will continue to feature on Yanga’s jerseys in all competitions, reinforcing the club’s commitment to the campaign.

"We see this ministry as the window to Zanzibar’s tourism. Through this partnership, we aim to raise awareness about the beauty of Zanzibar and its countless attractions," he added.

Hersi also encouraged Tanzanians and international visitors to prioritize Zanzibar as a travel destination.

"There’s no need to go to Ibiza or Dubai when Zanzibar offers breathtaking tourism experiences. Instead of spending money abroad, why not explore and support our own world-class attractions right here at home?" he emphasized.

He concluded by reaffirming Yanga’s dedication to leveraging its platform to attract more local and international tourists to Zanzibar.
