Dar es Salaam– Laughter and
excitement filled the air at Chakuwama Orphanage today, 28 March 2025, as Akiba
Commercial Bank extended a heartwarming gesture of support by delivering
essential supplies to enhance the children's well-being. This act of kindness,
rooted in the bank’s deep commitment to social responsibility, brought not only
aid but also hope to the young lives it touched.
The
handover ceremony, held at the orphanage, was more than just a formal event—it
was a day of connection and shared joy. Bank officials personally engaged with
the children and caregivers, ensuring the support went beyond material
assistance to genuine human interaction. Leading the initiative was Ms. Dora
Saria, Head of Marketing and Communication at Akiba Commercial Bank, who
underscored the institution’s unwavering dedication to community development.
“Corporate
social responsibility isn’t just a box we tick—it’s woven into everything we
do,” Ms. Saria affirmed. “This donation is about more than just providing
necessities; it’s an investment in our future generation, a reaffirmation that

The
carefully curated donation package included food supplies, educational

orphanage’s most pressing needs. But beyond the supplies, the visit itself

For
Mr. Hassan Tabu, the orphanage’s administrator, the donation couldn’t have come
at a better time. “We’re expanding our facilities to accommodate more
vulnerable children, and this support is invaluable,” he shared. “When

ability to provide better care and brighter futures for these kids.”
This

in 2002, Chakuwama Orphanage is home to 78 children between the ages of 3 and
