Simba halts ticket sales for CS Constantine clash

By Flora Mkoloma

Simba Sports Club has announced the suspension of ticket sales for their highly anticipated match against CS Constantine, slated for this Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The decision follows a directive from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), issued in response to incidents of violence during Simba's game against CS Sfaxien on December 15, 2023, in Dar es Salaam.

In a statement, Simba's Acting Chief Executive Officer, Zubeda Sakuru, revealed that CAF initially imposed a two-match spectator ban.

However, the penalty was reduced to one match to be played behind closed doors. Additionally, the club has been fined $40,000.

“We want to inform the public that we are actively working to address this ruling. For fans who have already purchased tickets, these will be valid for the next quarterfinal match,” she said.

The club assured supporters of its continued commitment to adhering to regulations and prioritizing safety and security during its games.
