Public institutions in Iringa urged to strengthen governance and service delivery

By Alfred Zacharia

Kheri James, the District Commissioner of Iringa, has called on all public institutions operating in the district to make substantial investments in providing high-quality services to citizens, aiming to enhance their well-being and accelerate development.

His remarks were delivered during a working meeting held today, which brought together leaders from various public institutions and government departments in Iringa.

The meeting, hosted at the District Commissioner’s office, was designed to foster better coordination and a shared understanding among all stakeholders.

In his address, Mr. James stressed that the government has worked to strengthen its institutions by recruiting skilled personnel, providing necessary resources, and implementing well-thought-out plans.

The primary goal is to deliver excellent services to the public, and he emphasized that it is the responsibility of each institution to prioritize service quality in all their operations.

Additionally, he urged all institutions in the district to operate with a commitment to the rule of law, fairness, equality, unity, and solidarity, while also advancing development.

He further encouraged the heads of these institutions to ensure that their strategies and decisions are aligned with the needs and interests of the public.

This, he explained, is crucial for citizens to see and experience the tangible benefits of these institutions' work.

The government’s vision for Iringa is to ensure that citizens' voices are heard, their needs are met, and they have access to all essential services in a timely and efficient manner.

In closing, the District Commissioner commended all public servants in the district for their hard work and the positive impact they are making. He wished them a prosperous and successful New Year.

The meeting was attended by the District Security Committee as well as officials from all administrative divisions within Iringa.
