Muhimbili bids Farewell to Dr. Rwegasha, Heading to the AU

Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) has officially bid farewell to Dr. John Rwegasha, the outgoing Director of Medical Services, who has been appointed Head of the Medical Services Unit at the African Union (AU). Dr. Rwegasha is set to assume his new role in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in February 2025.

During the farewell ceremony, MNH Executive Director Prof. Mohamed Janabi praised Dr. Rwegasha’s outstanding contributions to the hospital, which have significantly improved healthcare delivery.

 He acknowledged Dr. Rwegasha’s leadership qualities and dedication, expressing confidence in his ability to excel in his new responsibilities.

“Dr. Rwegasha has exemplified what it means to be a dedicated and effective leader. We commend his hard work, wish him great success in this prestigious role, and trust that he will represent Tanzania with distinction at the AU,” said Prof. Janabi.

Dr. Rwegasha, in his remarks, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MNH leadership and staff for their support throughout his tenure. He pledged to carry Tanzania’s flag high in his new role, promising to uphold the values of excellence and professionalism.
