The leadership of the Tanzania Table Tennis Association (TTTA) has announced plans to participate in both national and international tournaments, including the 2025 World Cup.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, TTTA Technical Chairperson Yahya Mungilwa emphasized the association's commitment to reviving the sport at all levels to nurture talented players.

“Our aim is to strengthen the sport and actively take part in both local and international competitions organized by the global table tennis federation,” Mungilwa said.

He added that the TTTA intends to create a robust platform for developing talent, ensuring that table tennis regains its prominence across the country.

Mungilwa also revealed that preparations are underway to finalize the 2025 calendar of events, which will guide the association’s activities for the year.

The move is expected to encourage greater participation, foster competition, and elevate the standard of table tennis in Tanzania. With a strategic focus on development and international representation, TTTA aims to position itself as a key player in the global table tennis arena.

Mungilwa called on stakeholders to support the association’s initiatives, noting that their contributions will be instrumental in achieving these ambitious goals.

The efforts by TTTA are set to reignite enthusiasm for the sport and provide opportunities for Tanzanian players to showcase their skills on the world stage.
