Mbinga. The challenge of classroom shortage at Mbinga Primary School located in Mbinga Town Council (MTC), Ruvuma Region, is set to be a thing of the past by the end of this month.
All credit to the sixth phase regime under Hon. President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for building five new classrooms and one office at a total cost of Sh120 million, according to Mbinga Town acting director Dr. Kung’e Nyamuryekung’e.
Three classrooms are already in use while the other two are expected to be ready by July 27, 2024, assuming other things remain constant.
“The construction of five new classrooms makes a total number to 17 against a demand of 17 classes, suggesting that the shortage will now no longer be there,” underscored Dr. Nyamuryekung’e.
Mbinga Primary School Headmistress Ms. Agatha Kapinga said prior to the new classrooms, whose construction kicked off in November last year, the school with 800 pupils had 12 classes against the demand of 17.
This implies that the classroom shortage was pegged at five, a problem of which will in a very near future remain to be a history.
“We commend the sixth phase government under Honourable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for its efforts to bring Mbinga Primary School up to standard,” she applauded with a broad smile covering her face.
