Tanzania will be represented by four swimmers at the 2026 World Aquatics Championships, scheduled to take place in Beijing, China, from December 1 to 6.
The national team comprises two male and two female swimmers who will compete in different events at the global championships.
Speaking about Tanzania’s participation, Tanzania Swimming Association (TSA) Director of Development and Education Jeremiah Kaema said preparations were underway to ensure the swimmers were ready for the competition.
In the men’s events, Collins Saliboko will compete in the 100-metre freestyle and 100m butterfly, while Romeo-Mihaly Mwaipasi will take part in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly.
In the women’s category, Crissa Dillip will compete in the 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke, while Filbertha Demello will contest the 50m butterfly and 100m butterfly.
The championships will provide the Tanzanian swimmers with an opportunity to compete against some of the world’s top swimmers while gaining international experience and representing the country on the global stage.
