Newly appointed Kagera Sugar head coach Cedric Kaze has pledged to work hard to restore the club to the top positions as he begins his tenure with the Tanzania Mainland Premier League side.
Kagera Sugar announced changes to its technical bench by appointing Kaze as head coach, replacing Juma Kaseja.
Kaze will oversee the team in all its NBC Premier League matches as well as other competitions in which the club participates.
Speaking after his appointment, Kaze said he was pleased to take charge of Kagera Sugar, describing it as a club with a rich history in Tanzanian football and a strong following across the Lake Zone.
He said one of his priorities would be to ensure supporters and other stakeholders leave the stadium satisfied with the team's performance.
“I will put my efforts into developing football in the Bukoba area while also aiming for success with Kagera Sugar,” he said.
Kagera Sugar chairman Francis Lubandi said the club decided to change its technical bench after becoming dissatisfied with the team's recent performances.
He said the decision followed an assessment of the team's progress, with the management concluding that the previous technical bench was not in a position to deliver the club's set targets.
“These changes have officially taken effect, and the management believes they will help return the team to the top positions,” Mr Lubandi said.
