TISEZA pushes professional standards in investment services

The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has stepped up efforts to strengthen leadership and professional standards in investment services through continuous training, research and certification.

The move was highlighted during the TPSF ELEVATE Leadership Programme, themed “Leadership that Delivers,” held in Zanzibar from August 19 to 21, 2026.

The programme brought together leaders from different institutions to sharpen their leadership skills, promote continuous professional development and improve their capacity to deliver results within their organisations and the wider economy.

TISEZA officials participated in the three-day programme, which focused on strengthening leadership capabilities and equipping participants with skills needed to improve institutional performance and contribute more effectively to economic development.

Participants who successfully completed the programme were awarded certificates in recognition of their participation and competencies acquired during the training.

Beyond its participation, TISEZA used the platform to introduce its Training and Capacity Building Academy, an initiative aimed at improving the quality and consistency of investment services across the country.

The Academy is expected to provide continuous professional training, undertake research and offer certification as part of efforts to professionalise investment service delivery.

TISEZA said the initiative is designed to help build a more skilled investment workforce while establishing common professional standards for those involved in facilitating and supporting investment.

The introduction of the Academy generated considerable interest among participants, highlighting the growing importance of specialised skills and professional standards in an increasingly competitive investment environment.

The initiative comes as Tanzania seeks to attract and retain more investment by improving the efficiency and quality of services provided to investors.

By linking leadership development with specialised investment training, TISEZA is positioning human capital development as an important component of efforts to strengthen the country's investment ecosystem and improve the delivery of services to investors.
