Mineral indicative prices for August 14, 2026

Gold remained highly valued in Tanzania’s mineral market on August 14, 2026, with the Mining Commission setting the world market price at TZS 375,673.72 per gram, according to the latest indicative mineral prices.

The Mining Commission’s figures show that gold was trading at USD 4,397.20 per troy ounce, while the indicative mineral market price stood at TZS 338,106.35 per gram.

At buying centres, gold producers and traders were offered an indicative price of TZS 330,592.87 per gram.

The figures provide a reference point for mineral traders, producers and other stakeholders in Tanzania’s gold market, although actual transaction prices may vary depending on factors such as purity, location and market conditions.

Meanwhile, silver was quoted at USD 64.96 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 5,549.84 per gram at the world market price.

The indicative mineral market price for silver was TZS 4,994.86 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS 4,883.86 per gram.

Copper was quoted at USD 6.58 per pound, translating into a world market price of TZS 38.55 per gram.

The Mining Commission placed the indicative mineral market price for copper at TZS 34.69 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS 33.92 per gram.

The publication of indicative prices is part of efforts to provide market reference information to participants in the mineral trade and improve transparency in mineral transactions.

The prices released on August 14 cover gold, silver and copper and are intended to guide stakeholders on prevailing international and domestic reference values.

The Mining Commission regularly publishes indicative mineral prices through its official channels as part of its role in regulating Tanzania’s mining sector.
