JKT Tanzania blame defeat on costly mistakes

By Victoria Godfrey

JKT Tanzania head coach Ahmad Ally has admitted that costly mistakes, particularly poor passing, contributed to his side’s 2-0 defeat to Polisi Tanzania in the NBC Premier League.

JKT Tanzania were beaten in a match played yesterday at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, with Polisi Tanzania capitalising on their opponents’ weaknesses to claim maximum points.

Ally acknowledged that his players struggled to maintain possession under pressure as Polisi Tanzania disrupted their build-up and made the most of the opportunities that came their way.

“We accept the result. We have lost today, and now we will return to training and prepare for our next match,” Ally said after the game.

The defeat leaves JKT Tanzania with work to do as they seek to improve their performance and results in their upcoming fixtures.

For Polisi Tanzania, head coach Mbwana Makata said his side went into the match with a clear plan to prevent JKT Tanzania from building attacks through the middle of the pitch.

He said his players were instructed to exploit spaces on the flanks and launch quick attacks whenever opportunities arose.

Makata described the victory as an important result for his team, but warned his players that they must maintain their focus as the league campaign is still in its early stages.

“We want to make sure we collect three points from every match because the league is still young,” he said.

Polisi Tanzania will now turn their attention to their next fixture against Dodoma Jiji, while JKT Tanzania will look to bounce back from the defeat in their next league outing.
