The Electrical Transmission and Distribution Construction and Maintenance Company Limited (ETDCO) has launched a performance review exercise aimed at improving the implementation of electricity infrastructure projects across the country.
The review brought together engineers and technical experts from ETDCO’s Technical Department in Dodoma to assess progress, identify challenges and develop strategies to ensure construction and rehabilitation projects are delivered efficiently.
Opening the working session, ETDCO Acting General Manager Richard Mwanja said the meeting was an important platform for evaluating performance and finding practical solutions to challenges affecting project implementation.
He said the discussions would help the company strengthen project planning, improve coordination among technical teams and ensure that projects are completed within agreed timelines while meeting required quality standards.
“Such meetings provide an opportunity to discuss challenges facing our operations and develop strategies that will enable us to execute projects effectively and deliver quality services,” Mwanja said.
The meeting comes as Tanzania continues to invest in expanding and upgrading its electricity infrastructure to support economic activities and improve access to reliable power.
Technical staff who attended the session commended ETDCO management for organising the meeting, saying it had enhanced their working capacity, strengthened cooperation and provided guidance on improving service delivery.
They said regular performance assessments were important in sharing experiences, addressing operational challenges and ensuring the company continues to meet its responsibilities in the power sector.
ETDCO is responsible for undertaking construction, rehabilitation and maintenance works for electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure, supporting efforts to strengthen the reliability of the national power system.
