DAR ES SALAAM, July 5 – Tanzania's tourism board is using the country's flagship trade fair to encourage businesses and the public to participate in the Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE) 2026, as the country seeks to strengthen its position as one of Africa's leading tourism destinations.
Speaking at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) Marketing Officer Abilah Amiri said the board had established a dedicated information desk to guide exhibitors and visitors through the registration process and highlight business opportunities available at the annual tourism exhibition.
The S!TE 2026 expo will be held in Dar es Salaam from Oct. 23 to 25 and is expected to bring together more than 200 tourism exhibitors and over 280 international hosted buyers from 20 countries.
According to TTB, buyers are expected from markets across Eastern and Western Europe, the United States, China, Russia, South Korea and India, providing Tanzanian tourism businesses with opportunities to expand international partnerships and access new markets.
"The exhibition is not only for tourism businesses," Amiri said. "It is designed for all Tanzanians. Families will also have an opportunity to enjoy wildlife displays and a range of tourism activities at affordable entrance fees while learning more about the country's tourism attractions."
The tourism board said the expo forms part of broader efforts to promote Tanzania's wildlife, cultural heritage and investment opportunities, while connecting local tourism operators with international buyers and travel professionals.
S!TE has become Tanzania's premier international tourism exhibition, serving as a key platform for business-to-business meetings, destination marketing and investment promotion as the country seeks to increase international visitor arrivals and tourism earnings.
