The Kigoma Regional Police Force has launched an extensive forensic investigation into the death of Suezi Dani Maradufu, a CHADEMA member and personal driver to the party's Vice Chairman, John Heche, as authorities work to establish the exact cause of his death.
In a statement issued on Friday, July 3, 2026, Kigoma Regional Police Commander Philimon Makungu said a postmortem examination had been conducted by a team of specialist pathologists from Bugando Medical Centre, supported by medical experts from the Geita and Dodoma regions, as well as a senior forensic officer from the Government Chief Chemist Laboratory.
Mr Makungu said the examination was carried out in the presence of CHADEMA leaders and members of Maradufu's family to ensure transparency and public confidence in the investigative process.
He said multiple biological samples were collected during the autopsy and submitted to accredited laboratories for advanced forensic analysis.
The scientific tests are expected to provide critical evidence that will enable investigators to determine the precise cause of death.
Maradufu was found dead on July 1, 2026, in a room he had rented at Ntahamba Guest House in Kigoma. The incident has attracted widespread public attention and raised questions over the circumstances surrounding his death.
Following the incident, CHADEMA called for an independent and comprehensive investigation, urging authorities to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined.
Police have maintained that the investigation is being conducted in accordance with established legal and forensic procedures and have urged the public to refrain from speculation while experts complete the scientific analysis.
The force said the findings of the forensic examinations will form a key part of the investigation and guide the final determination of the cause of death once all laboratory results are available.
Authorities have assured the public that they remain committed to conducting a professional, impartial and evidence-based investigation before releasing the final conclusions.
