Visitors attending the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) are getting a rare opportunity to experience the wonders of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area through a live digital wildlife display at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism pavilion.

The large screen installation has attracted many visitors by showcasing the breathtaking beauty of Ngorongoro, including the famous Ngorongoro Crater and the diverse wildlife found in the area.

Through the live footage, guests can witness large herds of animals such as zebras, wildebeests, gazelles and buffaloes, as well as rare species including rhinos, lions, elephants and leopards.

Speaking at the exhibition, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) Chief Public Relations Officer Walter Mairo said the digital showcase allows visitors to experience the natural beauty of Ngorongoro while remaining at the Sabasaba grounds.

“Through this live television display, visitors are able to see different wildlife species inside the crater and the Ndutu plains, where they can follow the remarkable journey of wildebeests from birth, growth, migration and their return to begin a new generation every year,” Mairo said.

He explained that the initiative demonstrates how digital technology can work together with nature-based tourism to educate, entertain and create awareness about Tanzania’s unique natural heritage.

Mairo added that Ngorongoro is more than a conservation area, describing it as a global platform where heritage, tourism, business and technology meet.

“Digital platforms are helping people understand that Ngorongoro is not just a place to visit and observe wildlife, but also a destination where people can learn, connect with nature and experience unforgettable moments,” he said.

At Sabasaba, the Ngorongoro team is engaging visitors through stories and experiences that highlight the area’s ecological importance, cultural heritage and contribution to Tanzania’s tourism sector.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to bring tourism closer to citizens while using innovation to promote Tanzania’s world-renowned attractions and encourage more people to explore the country’s natural treasures.
