Mining Forum to spotlight local content, investment opportunities

By The Respondents Reporter

Tanzania's Mining Commission will convene the fifth Local Content Compliance Forum (LCCF) 2026 later this month, bringing together government institutions, mining companies, local suppliers and investors to explore ways of expanding Tanzanian participation in the country's fast-growing mining industry.

The three-day forum will be held at Malaika Beach Resort in Mwanza from July 22 to 24, providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss compliance with local content requirements, strengthen business partnerships and identify new opportunities across the mining value chain.

The event comes as Tanzania continues to push for greater local participation in the extractive industry through policies aimed at increasing the use of Tanzanian goods, services and expertise in mining operations.

According to the Mining Commission, the forum will feature technical presentations, policy discussions, training sessions and exhibitions involving government agencies, mining companies and service providers.

The discussions are expected to focus on practical strategies for improving local content implementation while creating stronger linkages between large-scale mining firms and domestic enterprises.

The forum is also expected to provide entrepreneurs, mineral traders and prospective investors with an opportunity to engage directly with industry players, learn about procurement requirements and explore emerging business opportunities in one of Tanzania's key economic sectors.

By bringing together policymakers, regulators and the private sector, the forum seeks to accelerate knowledge sharing, promote compliance with local content regulations and enhance the competitiveness of Tanzanian businesses seeking to participate in mining projects.

The Mining Commission has encouraged interested participants to register ahead of the event through the official Local Content Compliance Forum portal or contact the Commission for further information.
