Mineral indicative prices for July 08, 2026

Gold buying prices at licensed mineral trading centres in Tanzania remained above TZS312,000 per gram on July 8, 2026, according to the latest indicative prices released by the Mining Commission, reflecting continued strength in global bullion markets.

The Commission's daily price schedule shows the indicative buying centre price for gold at TZS312,170.84 per gram, while the indicative mineral market price stands at TZS319,265.63 per gram

The corresponding world market price was USD4,170.80 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS354,739.59 per gram.

The indicative prices serve as a benchmark for transactions between miners, licensed mineral dealers and buying centres across the country, helping promote transparency in Tanzania's mineral trade.

Silver prices also remained firm, with the world market price reaching USD60.72 per troy ounce, translating to TZS5,164.43 per gram

The Commission set the indicative mineral market price at TZS4,647.98 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS4,544.69 per gram.

For copper, the world market price was quoted at USD6.16 per pound, equivalent to TZS35.93 per gram

The indicative mineral market price stood at TZS32.33 per gram, while licensed buying centres were advised to purchase the metal at around TZS31.62 per gram.

The Mining Commission publishes daily indicative mineral prices based on prevailing international commodity markets and exchange rates.

Although the figures are intended as a pricing guide rather than fixed transaction prices, they provide miners and traders with a transparent reference for negotiations and sales.

Gold remains Tanzania's leading mineral export, making daily price movements closely watched by artisanal and small-scale miners, mineral traders and investors. Strong international prices continue to support earnings across the country's mining value chain.

According to the Mining Commission, world market prices for gold and silver are quoted in US dollars per troy ounce, while copper is priced per pound

Domestic indicative prices for all three minerals are expressed in Tanzanian shillings per gram, providing a uniform benchmark for the local market.
