Mbeya District Commissioner Solomon Itunda received an enthusiastic welcome from bodaboda riders during their annual general meeting held at the FFU grounds in Mbeya City, underscoring the sector's growing role in the region's transport system.
Mr Itunda was greeted by cheering riders as he arrived at the venue, where more than 3,000 bodaboda operators from across the city had gathered for discussions on issues affecting their industry.
The meeting focused on key areas including road safety, professional standards, and strengthening cooperation between riders and law enforcement agencies.
Participants also discussed challenges facing the sector and explored ways to improve compliance with traffic regulations while enhancing the quality of transport services offered to the public.
