IGP commends Police for maintaining tight security at SabaSaba trade fair

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Camillus Wambura, has expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as SabaSaba, praising police officers for their professionalism, dedication and commitment to maintaining public safety.

Speaking after touring the exhibition grounds on Sunday, IGP Wambura said he was impressed by the level of preparedness and discipline displayed by officers deployed to secure one of Tanzania's largest annual trade events.

He said the Police Force remains committed to ensuring that exhibitors, investors, traders and members of the public enjoy a safe and peaceful environment throughout the exhibition.

"The Police Force will continue to ensure that the SabaSaba Trade Fair is conducted in peace, order and security so that the objectives of this important exhibition are fully achieved," Wambura said.

The police chief urged all officers assigned to the security operation to uphold discipline, professionalism, integrity and accountability while carrying out their duties, noting that their conduct reflects the image and reputation of the Police Force.

He commended the officers for their efforts since the opening of the fair, saying their vigilance has helped maintain peace and stability both inside and around the exhibition grounds.

"We have confidence in our officers. They should continue performing their duties with diligence, professionalism and patriotism to ensure the security situation remains stable until the conclusion of the exhibition," he said.

Wambura reaffirmed that the Police Force will continue to safeguard people and their property throughout the remaining days of the trade fair to ensure the event concludes successfully in a peaceful and secure environment.
