The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) has been recognised for the seventh consecutive year for its consistent contribution of dividends to the Government, underscoring the agency's sustained financial performance and commitment to supporting public revenue.
BRELA received the award after ranking third among public institutions that have consistently and promptly remitted dividends to the Government from the 2019/20 to the 2025/26 financial years.
The award was presented on June 30, 2026, during the Government dividend presentation ceremony held at State House in Dar es Salaam and witnessed by Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Speaking during the event, Nehemiah Mchechu said the award recognised institutions that have demonstrated consistency, financial discipline and compliance with legal requirements governing dividend payments.
He noted that BRELA has maintained timely annual dividend contributions averaging TZS 15.6 billion over the past seven financial years, reflecting the agency's operational stability and sound financial management.
"The institutions in this category have consistently remitted dividends on time, in the required amounts and in accordance with legal requirements. BRELA has maintained an average annual contribution of TZS 15.6 billion over the past seven years," Mchechu said.
The award was received by Prof. Neema Mori, accompanied by BRELA Chief Executive Officer Godfrey Nyaisa.
Addressing BRELA staff after the ceremony, Nyaisa attributed the recognition to the dedication and professionalism of the agency's employees.
"This award belongs to every BRELA employee. It is the result of your hard work and commitment. Continued discipline, professionalism and dedication will enable us to achieve even greater results," he said.
During the same event, BRELA also presented a dividend of TZS 11,494,117,728 to the Government for the 2025/26 financial year, reinforcing its contribution to domestic revenue mobilisation and national development initiatives.
