Young Africans SC (Yanga) will tomorrow take on Fountain Gate in a crucial NBC Premier League fixture at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, as the race for the league title intensifies.
Yanga head into the match with 63 points, firmly in contention for the championship but under pressure from rivals Simba, who currently lead the standings by just a single point. With only a few matches remaining, every fixture now carries significant weight in deciding the destination of the title.
The team has expressed confidence ahead of the encounter, with head coach Abdi Hamid Moallin saying preparations have gone according to plan and the squad is ready for the challenge.
“We have arrived safely in Arusha and trained well. The players are in good condition and fully prepared for the match. We respect the opponent, but our focus is on playing our game and finding the right solutions depending on the situation on the pitch,” he said.
Yanga midfielder Frank Kassinki emphasized the importance of maintaining focus as the season reaches its decisive stage, noting that the team is determined to collect maximum points from the remaining matches.
“We understand the importance of every remaining game. Our target is to stay focused, work hard, and secure positive results to achieve our goals,” he said.
Fountain Gate, meanwhile, have also expressed readiness for the tough assignment. Head coach Fred Minziro said his side is aware of the challenge but remains determined to compete strongly and improve their league position.
“We know we are facing a strong team. We will respect Yanga, but we are going into the match with determination to compete and get a positive result,” he said.
Fountain Gate player Chukwunonye Mac Donald Obosi added that the team is motivated to put up a strong performance despite the strength of their opponents.
The fixture is expected to be highly competitive, with Yanga seeking all three points to keep their title hopes alive, while Fountain Gate aim to secure valuable points to strengthen their standing in the league table.
