The stage is set for a high-intensity night of professional boxing as the much-anticipated event dubbed “Vyuma Vitaumana” takes place tomorrow at Henken Hall in Kijichi, Dar es Salaam, where fighters will battle for supremacy in a card packed with talent, power and ambition.

The headline bout will feature a six-round contest in the 63-kilogram division, with Rashid Mrema stepping into the ring against Idd Pazi in what is expected to be a closely contested fight between two determined boxers aiming to stamp their authority in the weight category.

The event will not only focus on the main fight, as a series of undercard bouts are expected to set the tone for the evening.

In one of the standout preliminary contests, Ramadhan Mkwakwate will face Medrick Nampumula in an eight-round clash in the 72-kilogram division, a fight that is expected to test both stamina and technical skill.

Another supporting bout in the 64-kilogram category will see Selemani Zugo take on Francis Mwalusaja over six rounds, adding further excitement to a card designed to showcase both rising prospects and experienced fighters.

Speaking to The Respondent Online after the official weigh-in held yesterday, Mitra Boxing Promotion promoter Said Hofu said all preparations for the event have been completed, with fighters now fully focused on delivering their best performances in the ring.

Hofu said the event has been organized with a clear focus on developing boxing talent by bringing together both young and experienced fighters from different districts of Dar es Salaam, giving them a platform to gain exposure and competitive experience.

“This event brings together upcoming and experienced boxers from various parts of Dar es Salaam with the aim of nurturing talent and giving fighters the opportunity to grow through competitive bouts,” he said.

He added that the level of preparation among the boxers suggests an exciting night ahead, with expectations of strong competition across all fights on the card.

Hofu further called on boxing fans and sports enthusiasts to turn up in large numbers to support the fighters and enjoy what is expected to be a thrilling showcase of talent, discipline and determination inside the ring.

The event is part of a growing wave of local boxing promotions aimed at strengthening the sport’s profile in Tanzania by creating more competitive platforms for both emerging and established fighters.
