The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has intensified efforts to attract quality investment into the country, bringing together investors, policymakers and development partners to discuss practical measures for improving Tanzania’s business environment and accelerating economic growth.

The discussions took place during an investor roundtable attended by key stakeholders, including Mr Euan Davidson, Sustainable Prosperity Team Leader at the British High Commission in Dar es Salaam.

The forum provided an opportunity for investors to engage directly with policymakers on challenges affecting investment decisions and to propose reforms aimed at attracting greater capital flows into sectors with high potential for job creation and sustainable development.

Participants examined a range of barriers that continue to constrain investment, while exploring strategies to strengthen investor confidence and enhance Tanzania’s competitiveness as an investment destination.

The discussions also underscored the critical role of public-private partnerships and policy consistency in creating a conducive environment for both domestic and foreign investors.

TISEZA said the roundtable reflects a growing commitment among stakeholders to work collaboratively in addressing investment bottlenecks and unlocking opportunities that can contribute to long-term economic transformation.

The authority noted that increased investment remains essential for driving industrialisation, expanding employment opportunities and supporting the country’s broader development agenda.

By fostering closer cooperation between government institutions, development partners and the private sector, TISEZA aims to strengthen Tanzania’s investment ecosystem and position the country as a preferred destination for sustainable and responsible investment.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating investment, promoting special economic zones and supporting reforms that enhance ease of doing business, as Tanzania seeks to attract capital that delivers inclusive growth and shared prosperity.
