Tanzania’s Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) has conducted an induction programme for 68 newly recruited engineers and technicians as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, integrity and efficiency in the delivery of road infrastructure services.
The three-day training, taking place at the City Hall in Mtumba, Dodoma, aims to equip the new employees with knowledge on public service laws, regulations, procedures and ethical standards required in their daily responsibilities.
Opening the training, TARURA Director of Support Services Ms Azimina Mbilinyi said the programme provides an important foundation for the new staff to execute their duties while upholding accountability, transparency and professional ethics.
She urged the participants to actively engage with the training sessions in order to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become responsible public servants and contribute effectively to the development of rural and urban road infrastructure.
During the programme, participants received training on various aspects of public service laws, regulations and operational procedures.
They also took public service integrity oaths administered by a lecturer from the Tanzania Public Service College, Mr Martine Fute.
The induction is expected to prepare the new employees with a broader understanding of their responsibilities, helping to improve public service delivery and enhance the effective implementation of road development projects overseen by TARURA.
