The Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA) has joined Tanzania’s 2026 Public Service Week exhibition in Dodoma, using the national event to educate citizens and stakeholders on the country’s bulk fuel import system and its contribution to energy security.

The exhibition, taking place at Chinangali Grounds, was officially opened on June 17 by Minister of State in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Kikwete.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kikwete said Public Service Week provides an important platform for bringing citizens closer to government institutions by enabling them to access services, obtain information and understand the achievements made by public institutions in delivering services.

At the PBPA exhibition stand, Petroleum Inspector Mr Issa Mwitazy said the agency is using the event to raise public awareness about the Bulk Procurement System and its role in ensuring reliable fuel availability, strengthening transparency in the petroleum sector and improving efficiency in the management of petroleum products.

He said visitors to the PBPA booth are receiving information on the agency’s responsibilities and the achievements recorded since the introduction of the Bulk Procurement System.

Through its participation in the exhibition, PBPA aims to strengthen engagement with stakeholders while providing accurate information on how the centralized fuel procurement model contributes to Tanzania’s energy security and broader economic development.
