The Chairman of the AFCON 2027 Guest Services Executive Committee, Danford Emmanuel, has officially presented the National Guest Services Strategy designed to guide Tanzania’s preparations for receiving thousands of visitors during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027.

The strategy was unveiled on June 16, 2026, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium hall in Dar es Salaam, as part of ongoing national efforts to ensure the country is fully prepared to host one of Africa’s biggest sporting events.

The comprehensive framework outlines key service areas aimed at enhancing the visitor experience before, during, and after the tournament.

These include airport and border reception services, transport coordination, accommodation arrangements, information services, security management, and overall service delivery coordination.

The strategy seeks to guarantee that all guests, including players, officials, and fans, receive services that meet international hospitality standards.

Danford Emmanuel said the strategy places strong emphasis on inter-institutional coordination, bringing together key sectors such as tourism, security, transport, and event management.

He noted that effective collaboration among stakeholders will be critical in ensuring smooth operations and a welcoming environment for all visitors throughout the tournament period.

He further stated that AFCON 2027 presents a unique opportunity for Tanzania to showcase its hospitality, infrastructure, and organizational capacity on both the continental and global stage.

According to him, proper planning and disciplined implementation will be key to maximizing the country’s benefits from hosting the event.

The meeting brought together members of the AFCON 2027 Guest Services Executive Committee, who reviewed the implementation framework of the strategy and provided input aimed at strengthening its execution.

Discussions focused on enhancing coordination mechanisms to ensure that all responsible institutions work in harmony and that service delivery gaps are minimized.

Participants underscored that successful implementation of the strategy will not only ensure a smooth and well-organized AFCON 2027, but will also strengthen Tanzania’s reputation as a reliable host of major international sporting and tourism events.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to full preparedness ahead of the tournament, expressing confidence that with effective coordination and timely execution, Tanzania will deliver a seamless, world-class AFCON 2027 experience for all visitors.
