Preparations for the professional boxing event dubbed “Vyuma Vitaumana” have reached 90 percent, with organisers confirming that everything is on track ahead of the fight night scheduled for June 27 this year at Henken Hall, Kijichi in Dar es Salaam.

The event is being organised by Mitra Boxing Promotion and is expected to feature an exciting mix of upcoming talents and experienced fighters, aimed at boosting the growth of professional boxing in the country.

Speaking after a medical screening session for participating boxers, promoter Said Hofu said only final arrangements remain, mainly the arrival of all fighters at the venue and final coordination ahead of the bouts.

He said the main goal of the event is to discover and develop young boxing talent while also giving experienced boxers a platform to stay active, gain exposure, and access bigger opportunities both locally and internationally.

“We have brought together young and experienced boxers from different parts of Dar es Salaam to ensure they gain experience, exposure, and competitive fights that will help them grow in their careers,” said Hofu.

The headline bout of the night will see Rashid Mrema take on Idd Pazi in a highly anticipated 63-kilogram contest expected to attract strong attention from boxing fans.

On the undercard, Selemani Zugo will face Francis Mwalusaja in a six-round, 64-kilogram fight, while Ramadhani Mkwakwate will battle Medrick Nampumula in an eight-round, 72-kilogram encounter. Several other supporting fights are also lined up to complete the full fight card.

The event will take place at Henken Hall Kijichi, which is expected to host a lively crowd of boxing enthusiasts eager to witness competitive and entertaining bouts.

One of the fighters, Ramadhani Mkwakwate, expressed confidence ahead of his fight, saying his preparation has gone well and his health condition is excellent.

“I have trained well and I am fully prepared for the fight. Fans should expect an exciting and competitive bout,” he said.

Organisers say the “Vyuma Vitaumana” event forms part of wider efforts to strengthen boxing development in Tanzania by creating regular platforms for fighters to gain experience, improve performance, and progress in their professional careers.
