NMB courts global capital as Tanzania opens investment pitch in London

NMB Bank is taking Tanzania’s investment proposition to London, where it will join international investors, policymakers and business leaders to explore opportunities for capital, partnerships and trade.

The bank, which is a strategic organiser of the Tanzania Investment Forum 2026, said it will work closely with the Tanzanian Embassy in the United Kingdom to promote investment opportunities and highlight the role of the financial sector in accelerating sustainable economic growth.

The London engagement puts NMB at the centre of efforts to connect international capital with opportunities in Tanzania, as the country seeks to attract investment through direct investment, partnerships and trade.

According to a statement issued by the bank on October 6, 2026, NMB will use the forum to make presentations aimed at mobilising capital, opening up investment opportunities and building partnerships with potential investors.

The bank said the discussions would also demonstrate how the financial sector can support Tanzania’s growth by facilitating investment and commercial partnerships.

“Tanzania is ready for capital through investment, partnerships and trade,” NMB said in the statement, outlining the message it will take to international investors in London.

The bank said the London platform would allow participants to discuss opportunities that could shape the next phase of Tanzania’s investment journey.

NMB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ruth Zaipuna will lead the bank’s senior delegation, alongside Board Chairman David Nchimbi, Board Director and Chief Financial Officer Juma Kimori and Director of Investor Relations, Sustainability and Communications Innocent Yonazi.

The delegation will engage investors and business leaders on opportunities for cooperation and investment, while positioning NMB as a potential commercial partner for investors seeking to establish or expand businesses in Tanzania.

“Tanzania is ready for investment, and NMB Bank is ready to work commercially with investors seeking to invest in Tanzania,” the bank said.

The engagement also highlights the increasingly important role of domestic financial institutions in converting investment interest into actual businesses and projects.

For investors, access to financing and local banking expertise can be critical in moving from identifying an opportunity to implementing an investment project.

NMB’s participation therefore extends beyond investment promotion, with the bank seeking to establish commercial relationships with international investors who may require financial services and local partnerships to operate in Tanzania.

The London forum will bring together key stakeholders to examine Tanzania’s investment potential and identify opportunities for partnerships capable of generating economic and commercial value.

For Tanzania, the immediate challenge is to translate international interest into actual capital flows, new businesses and expanded trade.

For NMB, the London engagement provides an opportunity to position the bank as a link between international investors and Tanzania’s domestic investment market.
