Tanzania is set to attract new investment opportunities following growing interest from Slovak investors targeting strategic sectors of the economy, as bilateral relations between the two countries continue to strengthen.

The development was highlighted during the Tanzania–Slovakia Business and Investment Forum held in Dar es Salaam, alongside the official inauguration of the Embassy of Slovakia in Tanzania.

The high-level event brought together government leaders, public institutions and private sector stakeholders from both countries to explore trade, investment and economic cooperation opportunities.

Speaking at the forum, Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) Board Chairman, Ambassador Aziz Mlima, said the interest from Slovak businesses reflects increasing international confidence in Tanzania’s investment environment as well as deepening economic diplomacy between the two nations.

Ambassador Mlima said TISEZA continues to play a central role in coordinating, facilitating and promoting investments in the country, ensuring investors access efficient and timely services through the One-Stop Facilitation Centre and Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

He urged Slovak investors to take advantage of Tanzania’s wide range of opportunities in priority sectors, noting that the country remains open and ready for strategic partnerships that support industrial growth and economic transformation.

According to him, Slovakia’s strong expertise in technology, engineering, advanced manufacturing, innovation and energy aligns well with Tanzania’s development priorities, particularly in accelerating industrialisation and value addition.

He added that increased Slovak investment would contribute to job creation, expansion of industrial capacity, and strengthening Tanzania’s position as a regional production and export hub serving both Eastern and Southern Africa.

On his part, a senior official from Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Daniel Koladova, said Tanzania’s steady economic growth and continued improvements in the investment climate have made it an increasingly attractive destination for foreign investors.

Koladova noted that the Slovak business delegation had shown strong interest in exploring concrete investment opportunities, expressing optimism about long-term partnerships between businesses from both countries.

The forum reaffirmed growing commitment by Tanzania and Slovakia to expand economic cooperation, with discussions focusing on trade expansion, industrial development, technology transfer and investment promotion.

The opening of the Slovak Embassy in Tanzania is expected to further strengthen diplomatic and economic relations, creating new channels for cooperation and boosting investor confidence between the two countries.
