Tai and Best Six capped outstanding campaigns by winning the 2026 Dar es Salaam Regional Volleyball Association (DAREVA) Serie B women's and men's titles respectively, while both finalists in each category secured promotion to the top-flight Serie A next season.
Tai were crowned women's champions after edging Nyika 3-2 in a thrilling five-set final played on June 28 at Kampala Grounds in Gongolamboto, Dar es Salaam.
The closely fought contest showcased the growing competitiveness of regional volleyball, with Tai holding their nerve to clinch the decisive set and lift the trophy.
In the men's final, Best Six produced a commanding display to defeat TPDC in straight sets (3-0), completing an impressive title-winning campaign without allowing their opponents back into the match.
The victories crowned memorable seasons for Tai and Best Six, who finished the 2026 DAREVA Serie B campaign as deserved champions after consistently delivering strong performances throughout the competition.
The finals also determined promotion to the 2027 DAREVA Serie A League. By reaching the championship matches, Tai, Best Six, Nyika and TPDC all secured places in the top division, earning the opportunity to compete against the region's elite clubs next season.
The promotion marks a significant milestone for the four teams and reflects their strong performances throughout the 2026 Serie B campaign, setting the stage for a more competitive Serie A season next year.
