Singida Black Stars eye continental spot with top-four finish

Singida Black Stars have intensified preparations for the final stretch of the Mainland Premier League season, with the club targeting a top-four finish to secure qualification for continental competitions next season.

The Singida-based side has returned to training following a short break and is focusing on its remaining five league fixtures, which will be crucial in determining its final position on the table.

Club spokesperson Hussein Massanza said the technical bench had challenged players to maintain discipline, consistency and commitment as the race for the top four enters its decisive phase.

“Our objective is clear—to finish the season among the top four teams. We currently occupy a strong position, but we know the competition is tough and every remaining match is important,” Massanza said.

He noted that players have been encouraged to take responsibility on the pitch and contribute fully to the team's efforts as it seeks to maintain its momentum in the closing stages of the campaign.

Massanza also revealed that all players had returned to camp in good condition, while several who had been recovering from injuries had resumed training with the squad.

“Most of our injured players have started training again. We are waiting for the final medical assessment to determine whether they will be available for selection in the upcoming matches,” he said.

Singida Black Stars will resume league action on June 13 against JKT Tanzania in a Mainland Premier League match at Major Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

With only five matches left before the curtain falls on the season, the club views every fixture as a must-win encounter in its quest to secure a place in next season’s continental tournaments and further cement its status among Tanzania’s leading football clubs.
