Simba SC kept their NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League title hopes alive after a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Pamba Jiji FC in a match played on June 14, 2026 at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

The win ensured Simba remain firmly in the title race, continuing to apply pressure on league leaders as the season enters its decisive stage.

Simba started the match brightly and wasted no time asserting their attacking intent. They broke the deadlock in the eighth minute through Elie Mpanzu, who calmly finished a well-coordinated move to give his side an early advantage.

Pamba Jiji, however, responded with determination and quickly grew into the game. Their persistence paid off in the 18th minute when Mathew Momanyi capitalised on a defensive lapse to slot home the equaliser, restoring parity at 1–1 and shifting momentum back into the contest.

The remainder of the first half was evenly balanced, with both sides creating chances but lacking the final touch. The teams went into the interval locked at 1–1 after a competitive opening 45 minutes.

After the restart, Simba returned with renewed intensity, pushing forward with greater urgency and sharper attacking transitions.

Their pressure eventually paid off in the 65th minute when Libasse Gueye struck the decisive goal, restoring Simba’s lead at 2–1.

Following the breakthrough, Simba managed the game with maturity, controlling possession and limiting Pamba Jiji’s attacking threats.

Despite late pressure from the hosts, Simba’s defensive organisation held firm to preserve the advantage until the final whistle.

The victory sees Simba SC move to 61 points, maintaining second place on the league table. They remain just two points behind leaders Young Africans SC, keeping the title race finely poised as the season nears its climax.
