Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) has appointed Sr. Prof. Clara Rupia as the new Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, with the appointment taking effect in August 2026.
The appointment was made by Rt. Rev. Wolfgang Pisa, OFMCap, who is the Chancellor of SAUT and President of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference, in accordance with the University Charter and the Universities Act.
Sr. Prof. Clara Rupia brings extensive experience in higher education, having served in academic and leadership roles for more than 15 years. She holds a PhD in Education Management from Moi University.
Before her appointment at SAUT, she served as Deputy Principal for Academic Affairs at CARUMCo and also held the position of Dean of Education.
Her academic profile includes the publication of four books as well as numerous peer-reviewed journal articles.
The university has congratulated Sr. Prof. Rupia on her appointment and called on the academic community and the public to extend their support as she assumes her new responsibilities.
