The Public Service Commission is set to hold a special session to hear appeals and complaints from public servants between June 15 and July 3, 2026, in Mwanza. The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen justice, transparency, and accountability in the public service sector.

Speaking to journalists at the Commission’s offices at Chimwaga Hall in Dodoma, Acting Secretary John Mbiso said this will be the fourth meeting of the 2025/2026 financial year. He said the sessions will be held at the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) Conference Hall in the Mwanza Zone.

Mbiso explained that the Commission has the legal mandate to receive and handle appeals and complaints from public servants who are dissatisfied with administrative decisions. He said this mandate is guided by Section 12(1)(d) together with Section 27(1)(b) of the Public Service Act, Cap 298, Revised Edition 2023.

He added that during the Mwanza meeting, the Commission will deliberate on various appeals and complaints submitted by public servants from different regions of the country and issue decisions in accordance with the law.

Mbiso further said appellants and respondents who requested to appear before the Commission will be given an opportunity to present additional clarifications, in line with Regulation 62(1) of the Public Service Regulations of 2022.

In addition to handling appeals, the Commission will also review implementation reports covering its responsibilities for the third quarter of the 2025/2026 financial year.

He also noted that the Commission will conduct outreach visits to several government institutions in Mwanza City. The aim is to educate employers, appointing authorities, and disciplinary authorities on proper human resource management procedures and compliance with laws and regulations.

Public servants will also receive education on their rights and responsibilities to improve efficiency, discipline, and accountability in public service delivery.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to upholding justice, fairness, and transparency in the public service by ensuring strict adherence to existing laws, regulations, and procedures across government institutions.
