Mbeya District Council has received two new Land Cruiser Hardtop vehicles worth 461.8 million/- in a move aimed at strengthening supervision, monitoring, and implementation of development projects across the district.
The vehicles, each with a capacity to carry 10 passengers, will be deployed in the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Division as well as the Planning and Coordination Division key sectors responsible for driving service delivery and development at the district level.
The funds used to purchase the vehicles were sourced from a combination of Central Government allocations and internal revenue generated by the Council.

He commended President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for continuing to strengthen local government authorities through consistent development funding, noting that such support has been crucial in improving service delivery across districts.
Itunda also praised the Council leadership under Executive Director Erica E. Yegella for effectively mobilizing internal revenue, which contributed to the purchase of the vehicles.
