The destination of the 2025/26 NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League trophy will finally be decided on Monday as Yanga and Simba battle for supremacy in a thrilling final day that promises high drama across the country.

With just 90 minutes remaining in one of the closest title races in recent years, all eight final-round fixtures will kick off simultaneously, leaving no room for error for the two Dar es Salaam giants.

League leaders Yanga will host JKT Tanzania at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, while second-placed Simba face KMC at the KMC Complex, with both teams chasing victory in their quest to be crowned champions.

Speaking ahead of the decisive encounter, Simba assistant coach Suleiman Matola said his side's focus is solely on collecting three points rather than calculating goal differences or monitoring developments elsewhere.

"Our priority is to win the match. KMC are a strong team with quality players, so we expect a difficult contest. However, we have prepared well and believe we can finish the season with a victory," Matola said.

Simba captain Shomari Kapombe said the players understand the significance of the fixture and are fully prepared for what could be the club's most important match of the season.

"This is a game we must approach with total commitment because the objective is simple—win and collect three points. Every player is ready and determined to give everything for the team," he said.

Kapombe noted that although Simba respect KMC's quality, the squad remains confident and every available player is ready if called upon by the technical bench.

"The league has been highly competitive from the beginning. Every team has improved, making every match challenging. Now we have one final opportunity to finish strongly," he added.

KMC head coach Imani Mwalupetelo acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge but said his team would not be intimidated by the occasion.

"We know Simba very well and understand their strengths. We have prepared both tactically and psychologically because we want to compete strongly. I also urge our supporters to come in large numbers and motivate the players," he said.

Elsewhere, Azam FC will welcome Dodoma Jiji at the Azam Complex as they seek to end the campaign on a winning note.

Azam assistant coach Kassim Liogope said his team expects another difficult assignment despite playing at home.

"We know Dodoma Jiji are a competitive side and we must remain focused throughout the match. Winning would be the perfect way to thank our supporters for standing by us during the season," Liogope said.

Dodoma Jiji head coach Aman Josia said his side has worked on correcting mistakes made during the first-round meeting and is determined to finish the campaign with a positive result.

"We know Azam are among the league's strongest teams, but our players are motivated and ready for the challenge. We want to conclude the season with a strong performance," he said.

The other final-day fixtures will see Coastal Union host Pamba Jiji at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga, Fountain Gate take on Singida Black Stars at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, Mbeya City face TRA United at Sokoine Stadium, Mashujaa play Tanzania Prisons at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma, while Namungo entertain Mtibwa Sugar at Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi.

As the curtain falls on the 2025/26 season, all eyes will be on Dar es Salaam, where the performances of Yanga and Simba will determine who lifts the coveted NBC Premier League trophy after one of the most fiercely contested title races in Tanzanian football history.
