The government will not tolerate public servants who delay, deny or frustrate citizens’ access to services and justice, Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has said, stressing that accountability and efficiency must remain at the centre of public service delivery.
Addressing residents of Isimani Constituency in Iringa Region on Friday, June 5, 2026, while listening to their concerns at Isimani Grounds, Dr. Nchemba said the government is committed to ensuring that citizens receive services on time and in accordance with the law.
He said justice should never be treated as a privilege but as a fundamental right that every citizen deserves.
“Justice is not a favour. Anyone entitled to a right must receive it. The government will not tolerate any actions that deprive citizens of their rights or cause unnecessary delays,” said Dr. Nchemba.
The Prime Minister emphasized that public servants are entrusted with the responsibility of serving citizens and must carry out their duties with professionalism, integrity and urgency.
He urged government officials to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic procedures that force citizens to make repeated visits to public offices for services that could be provided immediately.
“What can be done today should be done today. Citizens who visit public offices deserve to be served with respect, speed and efficiency,” he said.
Dr. Nchemba warned that the government would continue taking disciplinary action against officials who fail to discharge their responsibilities properly, particularly those whose conduct undermines service delivery or leads to the misuse of public resources.
He noted that accountability and ethical conduct are critical to strengthening public confidence in government institutions and ensuring that development initiatives translate into tangible benefits for ordinary Tanzanians.
The Prime Minister also assured residents of Isimani that the government would continue implementing development projects and fulfilling commitments made by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, alongside priorities outlined in the CCM election manifesto.
He said ongoing investments in infrastructure, social services and economic empowerment programmes are aimed at improving living standards and expanding opportunities for citizens across the country.
Dr. Nchemba’s remarks reflect the government’s broader drive to improve efficiency in public administration and ensure that state institutions remain responsive, transparent and accountable to the people they serve.
