DAREVA weekly awards ignite fierce competition among players

The Weekly Best Player Awards in the Dar es Salaam Regional Volleyball League (DAREVA) have continued to fuel excitement and motivation among participants, with winners pledging to work even harder to help their teams achieve this season’s targets.

Among the latest recipients of the awards are Francisco Kanyerere and Jumaa Rashid from Nyika in the men’s category, alongside Radhia Hassan of Tanzania Prisons and Evanglista Makota of KIUT in the women’s category.

Speaking shortly after receiving his award, Francisco said his success was the result of hard work in training and strict adherence to technical instructions from the coaching staff.

He noted that the recognition had boosted his determination to perform even better and continue helping Nyika secure positive results in upcoming league matches.

Francisco expressed gratitude to the team’s management, coaches, and fellow players, saying the award reflected teamwork and collective effort within the squad.

He also called on Nyika fans to continue turning up in large numbers to support the team, saying their presence adds strength in the pursuit of success this season.

Meanwhile, competition remained intense over the weekend as league matches were played at KIUT grounds in Gongolamboto, Dar es Salaam.

In the men’s fixtures, High Voltage recorded a commanding 3-0 victory over Kigamboni, while Nyika defeated Tz Airforce with the same 3-0 scoreline.

TPDC secured a hard-fought 3-2 win against Best Six, while Bandari overcame KIUT 3-1 in another entertaining encounter.

Tz Airforce bounced back with a 3-0 win over JKT, while Nyika continued their strong form by defeating Jeshi Stars 3-0, strengthening their position in the league standings.

In the women’s category, KIUT impressed with two straight victories, beating UDSM 3-0 and Jeshi Stars 3-1. 

JKT defeated Nyika 3-1, while Bandari secured a 3-0 win over Chui in another competitive matchday.
