Excitement is building ahead of the Dar Boxing Derby, with boxers set to feature in the event pledging to deliver high-intensity and entertaining bouts when they step into the ring on July 24, 2026, in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking to journalists shortly after signing contracts for the event, the fighters said they have completed their preparations and are ready to showcase peak performance in front of boxing fans expected to fill the venue.

One of the most talked-about fighters, Abdallah Pazi, popularly known as Dulla Mbabe, said he is in top condition and aiming to extend his winning record with another knockout victory.

He said his focus is fully on victory and called on fans to turn up in large numbers to witness what he described as a night of real boxing action.

“I have a strong desire to win and something I want to achieve in this fight. Fans should come in big numbers because they will witness great and exciting bouts,” said Dulla Mbabe.

Juma Choki, another boxer on the card, said his strategy will depend on how his opponent approaches the fight, stressing that adaptability will be key once they meet in the ring.

“We will meet in the ring. I will first study his style and then respond accordingly with the right tactics,” said Choki.

Female boxer Sara Alex said the fight carries special significance for her as she aims to bounce back after her most recent defeat.

She admitted that the loss in her previous bout affected her record but said it also taught her important lessons that have strengthened her preparation for the upcoming challenge.

“The defeat was painful because it damaged my record, but I have learned from it. Now I am ready to come back stronger and show my real potential,” said Sara Alex.

The Dar Boxing Derby is expected to bring together some of Tanzania’s top boxing talents, promising fans a night of fierce competition, skill, and entertainment as the sport continues to grow in popularity across the country.
