The Bank of Tanzania (Bank of Tanzania) is participating in the Public Service Week Exhibition in Dodoma, using the platform to educate the public and strengthen awareness of financial services in the country.
The exhibition is taking place at Chinangali Grounds from June 16 to June 23, 2026, bringing together various government institutions under the theme “Enhancing inclusive accountability for sustainable services.”
The event was officially opened on June 17, 2026, by the Minister of State in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Ridhiwani Kikwete.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kikwete said the exhibition should serve as a platform where citizens can access government services with ease, professionalism, and efficiency.
He also noted that it offers public institutions an opportunity to learn from one another, share experiences, and showcase improvements, innovations, and achievements in service delivery.
At the Bank of Tanzania pavilion, visitors are receiving civic and financial education on various key areas that relate directly to their daily lives and the national economy.
The bank is providing guidance on investment in government securities, including Treasury bonds and Treasury bills, explaining how these instruments work and how citizens can participate in supporting national development.
The BoT stand is also educating the public on security features found in Tanzanian currency notes, helping citizens identify genuine money and avoid counterfeit notes. This is part of efforts to strengthen financial awareness and protect the public from fraud.
In addition, the central bank is sharing information on its core functions, including monetary policy management, regulation of financial institutions, and oversight of the national payment system.
Visitors are also being guided on procedures for obtaining licenses to offer microfinance services, an important step in expanding financial inclusion in the country.
The Bank of Tanzania is further educating the public on the Tanzania National Payment System, explaining how digital and electronic transactions operate, including mobile money services, bank transfers, and other modern financial platforms that support fast and secure payments.
Through its participation, the Bank of Tanzania aims to improve public understanding of the financial sector and encourage citizens to take advantage of available opportunities for economic growth and personal financial development.
The institution’s involvement in the exhibition reflects its continued commitment to strengthening communication with the public, improving financial literacy, and bringing services closer to citizens as part of broader national development goals.
