A total of 250 young Tanzanians have graduated from an investment training programme organized by the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) in partnership with the Save Youth Dream Foundation (SYDF), as part of efforts to equip youth with practical skills in investment, entrepreneurship and financial management.

The graduates completed the eight-week Youth Investment Club (YIC) programme, which culminated in a graduation ceremony held on June 13, 2026, at the CIVE Auditorium of the University of Dodoma (UDOM).

The training focused on building participants’ understanding of savings, investment planning, entrepreneurship, business development and the identification of viable investment opportunities, with the broader goal of enhancing youth participation in the country’s economic growth.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Planning and Investment from the President’s Office – Planning and Investment, Mr Fadhili Chilumba, said the government remains committed to creating a conducive environment for investment and expanding economic opportunities for young people.

He urged the graduates to translate the knowledge acquired during the programme into practical ventures, stressing the importance of investing early and maintaining a long-term perspective in wealth creation.

“Young people have a critical role to play in driving Tanzania’s economic transformation. The knowledge and skills gained through programmes such as this should serve as a foundation for sustainable investment and entrepreneurship,” he said.

TISEZA Investment Support Services Manager, Ms Latifa Kigoda, said the initiative forms part of broader national efforts to address youth unemployment by promoting investment and entrepreneurship among young people.

She noted that empowering youth with financial and investment knowledge is essential for building a productive and resilient economy.

“Tanzania’s future will be shaped by young people who possess the knowledge, confidence and capability to establish and manage successful enterprises. Through programmes like the Youth Investment Club, we are investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs and investors,” she said.

Beyond receiving certificates of participation, graduates were also given an opportunity to present business and investment concepts developed during the training period.

The presentations highlighted innovative ideas across various sectors and demonstrated the potential of youth-led enterprises to contribute to economic development.

The programme was implemented under TISEZA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework and reflects the institution’s commitment to fostering financial literacy, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth among Tanzanian youth.
