President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, today swore in newly appointed leaders during a ceremony held at Ikulu Chamwino in Dodoma Region, calling on them to prioritize service delivery, integrity, and unity in national development.
Among those sworn in was Dr. Evaline Wilbard Munisi (MP), appointed as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities. Dr. Munisi also serves as Secretary General of NCCR-Mageuzi.
President Samia said the appointment was based on merit, experience, and capability, stressing that public service should unite all Tanzanians regardless of political affiliation. She noted that the government values competence and professionalism in strengthening national development.
“Evaline is the Secretary General of an opposition party, but when I looked at her profile, I saw she has the qualifications to serve in government and help us deliver,” said President Samia.
She directed Dr. Munisi to work closely with officials in the Prime Minister’s Office to improve labour standards, protect workers’ rights, and expand employment opportunities, especially for young people both within and outside the country.
The President further emphasized that the office is responsible for strengthening relations between government, employers, and employees, as well as ensuring mutual respect among state institutions and other arms of government.
President Samia also sworn in other senior officials, including Kheri Abdul Mahimbali as Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA), Ambassador Ali Jabir Mwadini as Private Secretary to the President, Engineer Peter Philip Mwasalyanda as Director General of the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), and Dr. Jabir Kuwe Bakari as Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA).
Angela Charles Kizigha (MP) was also sworn in as Presidential Advisor on Social Affairs.
On TEMESA, President Samia instructed the new leadership to restore efficiency and public trust, following challenges highlighted in the Controller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report.
She reminded the leaders that their positions are a trust given to them to serve citizens effectively.
“Leadership is a responsibility. God has placed you there to serve the people,” she said.
President Samia urged all leaders to perform their duties with discipline, humility, and focus on results, emphasizing that government leadership must directly address wananchi’s challenges and improve service delivery across all sectors.
The swearing-in ceremony reflects the government’s continued commitment to strengthening leadership, improving public institutions, and ensuring better services for Tanzanians.
