President Samia Suluhu Hassan has said police work is a critical responsibility that requires discipline, integrity, alertness and a broad understanding of laws, traditions and community values.

Speaking on May 28, 2026, during the graduation ceremony for police officers and inspectors at the Kurasini Police Training Academy in Dar es Salaam, President Samia said the duty of protecting people and their property remains one of the key pillars for Tanzania’s stability and development.

She commended Tanzanians for continuing to cooperate with security organs in maintaining peace and security across the country.

“I also congratulate patriotic Tanzanians for continuing to cooperate with our defence and security organs in preserving peace and stability in our nation. The responsibility of protecting citizens and their property is an important pillar for our country.

Police work cannot be viewed as an ordinary job because it requires discipline, integrity, alertness and a broad understanding of laws, customs, traditions and the country’s development plans,” said President Samia.

The Head of State further stressed the importance of police officers understanding global economic and political changes, saying such knowledge would help them respond effectively to emerging challenges.

She expressed confidence that the training provided to the officers and inspectors would improve efficiency, professionalism and service delivery to the public.

President Samia also urged the graduates to uphold professionalism and continue serving the nation with commitment and accountability in order to strengthen public trust in the Police Force.
