Minister of State in the President’s Office for Public Service Management and Good Governance, Riziwan Kikwete, has called on emerging leaders to use the knowledge and leadership skills they acquire to serve the nation with integrity and professionalism.
Speaking during the ninth graduation ceremony for leadership programmes held at Mlimani City Conference Centre on May 15, 2026, Kikwete said discipline and ethical leadership remain crucial pillars for Tanzania’s social and economic transformation.
He said leaders who uphold integrity and accountability are better positioned to inspire public trust and contribute to sustainable development across the country and the African continent.
“Discipline and integrity, when properly observed, can help heal Tanzania and Africa as a whole,” Kikwete said.
The minister awarded certificates to graduates from various leadership programmes, including courses for women leaders, emerging leaders and senior executives designed to strengthen leadership capacity in both public and private institutions.
Kikwete noted that the programmes are helping to shape a new generation of visionary and responsible leaders capable of addressing governance and development challenges facing modern societies.
The courses are organised by the Uongozi Institute in partnership with Aalto University and Yale University.
He said the collaboration reflects growing international efforts to promote quality leadership training and good governance, while equipping future leaders with the skills needed to manage institutions effectively and ethically.
Kikwete also underscored the importance of investing in leadership development, saying strong institutions and accountable leadership are essential for national progress and long-term stability.
